A small metal can with a cork stopper is seen to be empty. A bean is shown to the spectator with the request that he place it in the can. You then inform him that you will change the bean to a pea. You shake the can a little and once again pour out the bean. Again, the bean is shaken in the can, the cork lifted out, and you pour the contents of the can into the palm of the spectator's hand. He will get the surprise of his life as you have now changed the bean to water.
