Original Massey Flame Clock, ca. 1954
A rare original of Ed Massey’s iconic invention—not the later, more famous Milson-Worth version. In performance, a lit candle is placed inside the ornate, oriental-style cabinet and visibly cut into three with two swords. When the doors are opened, the candle’s center is missing. Yet moments later, it’s fully restored and can be removed for inspection.
Beautifully built in wood and decorated with brass hinges and trim. A mechanical, angle-proof mystery—complete with original 13” daggers. Uses real candles (not wood). Some wear from age but mechanically sound. Overall, very good condition. Scarce.
