Precision Bamboo Sticks. Silent Mora (Louis McCord), 1953.
The classic effect executed in decorated bamboo: the cords appear independent, yet respond in perfect opposition—pulling one end causes the other to withdraw, and vice versa. Handcrafted and painted by Silent Mora, each stick is signed and dated in his hand (Sept. 21, 1953) and further inscribed with Mora’s characteristic aphorisms: “More men drowned in the bowl than in the sea,” and “A man with a sour face should not open a shop.” Length approximately 10 inches.
One stick requires restringing; original tassel and bead present for reattachment. Otherwise very good condition. Includes hand-stitched carrying bag and photocopied instructions.
