Double Television Frame. Jack Hughes, mid-20th century.

Variant of the Television Frame in which a selected card is torn into pieces, placed between two sheets of glass secured by rubber bands, and briefly covered. On removal of the cover, the card is seen restored and may be removed intact. The method differs from the standard version, employing a hinged/tilting base enabling the vanish of the torn pieces prior to launching the card. Described in The Jack Hughes World of Magic, Vol. 1, p. 87. Glass plates measure approximately 9” x 9”. Wooden stand with painted base. Rubber band in mechanism in need of replacement. Wear consistent with age; very good condition. Scarce.
