Block Vanish

Jimmy King’s Block Vanish (Jimmy King; MAK Magic; after U.F. Grant), ca. 1960s–70s.

A solid wooden block is shown and placed inside a painted cabinet in the familiar sucker die box style. After the usual byplay, both front doors are opened. The audience sees straight through as a wand is passed cleanly from side to side—yet the block has vanished. May also be used for a block-to-silk transformation. Well made, with a solid wood block (no tin shells) and an additional duplicate for examination. Dragon motif decoration. Photocopied instructions included. Wand not included. Light surface wear; overall good to very good.
