Brass Reel

$50.00

Brass Reel. Possibly Paul Diamond, ca. 1950s–60s.

A heavy brass reel of the type favored by professional magicians for the vanishing, appearing, and animation of small objects. Possibly manufactured by Paul Diamond.

Constructed in solid brass with a black thumb screw and mounting tab. At some point, the reel was overpainted in a flesh-colored finish, presumably to reduce visibility during performance. The reel operates smoothly with strong spring tension and remains in very good mechanical working condition. Surface wear and losses to the later paint consistent with age and use. Very good condition overall.
