Chop Chops Confetti to Doves. Al Wheatley (“Chop Chop”), ca. 1940s–50s.
A clever production effect using nested plates. Two ordinary plates are shown and filled with confetti; when separated, the contents vanish and are replaced with doves, silks, or other items.
Three cream-colored enameled metal plates, one gimmicked and retaining original aged confetti affixed to the surface. Includes original typed instructions, titled “Chop Chops Confetti to Doves,” with diagrams and a handwritten note at lower margin.
Plates show light handling wear. Instruction sheet toned with edge loss and small tears, but complete and readable. A scarce Wheatley utility piece with strong visual effect.
