Phantom Tube
Phantom Tube. Petrie & Lewis, ca. 1930s
A decorated metal tube is shown empty, its ends sealed with tissue paper. Moments later, an impressive quantity of silks is produced from within. The tube is then shown empty once more—only for a second load of silks to appear. Marketed by P&L as the “Double Load,” this version includes the original Phantom Tube with bullet-style drumhead load for the second production. Features an uncommon paint scheme. Measures 7” tall and 2.75” in diameter. Spots of paint chipping; overall very good condition.
